PGM RWB Porsche Cinderella 70th Anniversary Special Edition

Porsche was formed in 1931 while they didn’t have road cars until 1948. In 2018, Porsche was celebrating 70 years anniversary of their cars on the road. RWB Porsche Cinderella is a real life car in sharp yellowish orange colour, and the RWB Thailand team had modified the Cinderella with the 70th Anniversary theme.

Once again, PGM recreated this lovely yellowish RWB in the 1:64 scale. Opening doors, rear engine cover and front compartment with all the fine prints throughout the car, once again created the wow effect and didn’t get our collectors disappinted. The car itself has all black interior, gears up with printed Mr. Nakai’s imaginary Idlers tires.

If we are to criticize, PGM could improve their cars by giving more detail windshield wipers, and better licence plates front and rear.

Each of this RWB Porsche Cinderella 70th anniversary edition is numbered, and being produced only 1,000 pieces worldwide.

PGM Ferrari 250 GTO

One of the first few cars PGM produced. PGM didn’t upset it’s fans as this beauty was reproduced all the details of this race cars in real life. Produced 1,500 pieces worldwide, they are being numbered individually.

This car 19 was always being displayed at different car shows or gathering (though it was a replica). Top down from the front to the rear, with red, white and blue stripes throughout.

The wheels cannot be roll as it’s mainly serve as a display car. Two tiny screws are being used to fixed the car on the round display case. Just like the other PGM cars, it comes with a car door openers as both doors, engine hood and the rear compartment can be opened. The interior is mainly in black with navy blue seats. The front lights, the rear signal lights, the exhaust pipe, the rims, and basically everything of the real car is now being displayed on your palm. Another great job done by PGM.

Although it didn’t show the scale of the car on anywhere of the box or the display case, we all believe it’s in 1:64 scale.

PGM Sakura RWB Porsche 964 Premium Edition

PGM created this beauty of RWB Porsche 964 in diecast 1:64 model. Though we couldn’t find the actual real car of this RWB Porsche 964 in real life.

There are two versions: the standard and the premium. Standard version comes with a regulator gift box, while the Premium version comes with a round shape roundtable gift box.
Inside is the clear acrylic box. The car stands on (being screwed on) the grey jewellery grade silk pad. As the doors and hoods can be opened, PGM prepared a door Porsche shape plaster opener for us to open those doors.

This car is with double golden stripes from the head to the top. Some sakura patterns on the right side of the top, in black background. The number “40” is shown on the front hood and on the doors. There are some companies logo on both sides of the doors. The Japanese characters “競騎士” is printed on the rear windshield.

The craftsmanship is to the level of brilliant. Such detail print, opening doors, front hood and rear engine cover are telling us the effort PGM had put into creating such a beauty for their collectors.

The box set comes with a metal plate indicating an unique number of this limited run, out of 1,000 pieces worldwide.

Honda Civic long standing history

Happy Civic Holiday!

Since today is Civic Holiday lets take a look at all the different generations of Honda Civic casting that made by Tomica. Honda Civic is quite popular around the world and Tomica started to produce Honda Civic in 70’s. Tomica recreated pretty much every generations of Honda Civic except the 7th generation probably due to the less popularity of the actual car than the other generations. Below let see each generation / casting that produced by Tomica:

Generation 1:

This generation started all and laid down the direction of future Honda’s automobile design. CVCC engine was introduced by Honda with a special engine head design that promoted cleaner, more efficient combustion. The CVCC design eliminated the need for catalytic converters or unleaded fuel to meet new emissions standards.
Tomica produced this model based on a 2-door fastback sedan. It comes with suspension and open doors. Beside the regular version, it also comes as Tomica Limited version.

Generation 2:

After the success of first generation, Honda designed the 2nd generation based on the Accord model, which is more roomier and comfortable compare to the first generation.
Tomica produced this model based on a 5-door station wagon. It comes with suspension and open front doors.

Generation 3:

For this generation, Honda included a DOHC engine the first time in the Civic lineup. This generation also has a special “Kammback” version called CR-X which eventually spinoff to become it’s own line of model. Tomica produced this model based on a 3-door hatchback. It comes with suspension and open front hood to show engine compartment.

Generation 4:

For this generation, Honda included a VTEC engine the first time in the Civic lineup. This generation also has independent suspension all around. With its light weight, independent suspension and powerful engine, this generation was well-received world wide. Tomica produced this model under the newly introduced Tomica Limited Vintage Neo version and it’s based on a 3-door hatchback.

Generation 5:

This generation was introduced in early 90’s and it became larger and more aerodynamic compared to the previous generations. Same as fourth generation, the fifth generation was still propular world wide due to its light weight, independent suspension and powerful engine. Tomica only produced this model as Tomica Limited Vintage Neo version and it’s based on a 3-door hatchback.

Generation 6:

The highlight of this generation was the first introduction of TYPE-R model. Tomica recreated this model as Tomica Limited Vintage Neo version and it’s based on a 3-door hatchback.

Generation 7:

It was released in September 2000 as a 2001 model. Compared to its predecessor, it retained similar exterior dimensions, but increased significantly in interior space thus bumping up Civic to a compact car size segment. Tomica didn’t produce any model for this generation. We have included a couple of Hot Wheels versions generation seven Civic.

Generation 8:

This generation was the first introduction of TYPE-R 4-door sedan model. Tomica had produced two model. This first model is based on the Japan market 4-door Type-R sedan. It comes with sport wheel, suspension and open front hood to show engine compartment. This is a very popular model as it is the first Type-R made by Tomica. This second model is based on the Euro specification Type-R, which is a 3 door hatchback and comes with sport wheel, suspension and open rear hatch.

Generation 9:

This generation was the first turbo charged TYPE-R. It was also the first time only TYPE-R variant officially sold in the Japanese market. Other varient like sedan, coupe and wagon are available gobally but not the Japanese market.
For this generation, Tomica produce this model based on a 3-door Type-R hatchback. It comes with sport wheels, suspension and open front hood to show engine compartment.

Generation 10:

This generation is the first Type-R introduced to North America Market. Tomica produced this model based on a 5-door Type-R hatchback. It comes with sport wheels, suspension and open front hood to show engine compartment.

Tomica No. 34-4 Nissan Bluebird Wagon

This diecast car was targeted as the Nissan Bluebird Wagon U10 / Nissan Maxima Wagon (in North America) and it’s produced in Japan in the mid 1980’s. This particular wagon wears a “UCC” liverly. UCC is the short form of Ueshima Coffee Co., a manufacturer of coffee and tea products in Japan. UCC branded products are quite popular in Japan.

This Tomica can open rear hatch and have suspension system. Also it come with detailed chassic which is normal on made in Japan’s era Tomica.

Hot Wheels RLC Exclusive ’55 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL

One of the most popular famous Hot Wheels RLC car in 2019. The iconic qull-wing doors of this beauty is being captured and recreated in 1:64 scale. With highly detail casting on the body and being displayed in the custom-made sturdy acrylic case, every diecast collectors should have a copy of it.

Spectraflame green exterior, red/white interior and chrome green Real Rider Steelie (RRS) wheel, this 1:64 scale diecast model car was released on November 19, 2019 with a limited to 12,500 copies worldwide. Manufactured in China.

The ’55 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL was such a highly sought car for celebrities, set new standards in prestige and high performance for the period.

Tomica No. 92 Lamborghini Countach LP500S

Remake of the 1978 No. F50 Lamborghini Countach LP500S, this red box No. 92 version has the big golden Lamborghini logo on the front hood of the diecast model. The most obvious change is the wheels. This model is with the 1K race car wheels/rims, while the old version was with 2F wheels/rims. This model has a total of 3 variations while the F50 model was known to have a total of 11 different variations in the market. Both versions engine hood at the rear is set to be opened.

Scale 1:61, released in January 1988, Japan made.

Both are still a loved car for any Lamborghini diecast model collectors.Lamborghini Countach LP500S was introduced in 1982, adopting from the main Lamborghini Countach line since 1970s. It was created by Lamborghini and made in Italy. One of the highly sought exotic race cars, as there were only 1,983 of all Lamborghini Countach series produced ever.

Tomica Limited Vintage Neo Ferrari 512 TR

512TR is the next favourite car we like the most, among all Ferrari super cars produced as yet.

Similar to F40, 512TR comes with 3 colours – yellow, red and black. The yellow one was exclusively sold at Tomica Shop only. While the red and black were sold to the public. All were marketed to Japan.

Yellow and red 512 TR were released September 2019, while the black one was released in March 2020. If you are lucky enough, pass by the Tomica shops at Japan and you should be able to get the yellow 512TR.

Unlike F40, 512TR has suspension. You can see it’s engine by opening the rear cowl.

Many could see the 512 TR was a evolution model of the Ferrari Testarossa. Tomica built this based on the real cars, both 512 TR and the Testarossa. The change in the front mask is noticeable when you look at both cars at first glance, but the shape of the engine hood and the shape of the engine itself have also changed.

Tomica Limited Vintage Neo Ferrari F40

F40 is the most iconic super cars Ferrari made, and it was so called the fastest car in the world by then. Tomica had made a good taste of this car, by producing three of it’s colour: yellow, red and black.

The yellow Ferrari F40 was first released in March 2019, available only at Tomica shops in Japan. Usually Tomica produced less of the Tomica shop exclusive items, so most of Tomica / Ferrari fans are going crazy after this yellow version.
During the same launch, Tomica released the red one for the general public, but still only in Japan. Almost one year later, they produced the black version and released in February 2020.

All 3 colour-versions are with the front and rear cowl opening and closing. Definitely a car for every Tomica collectors. Though no suspension for this car.

Tomica Limited Vintage Neo Mazda 787b

Tomica Limited Vintage Neo Mazdaspeed series is based on the real-life rotary engine race cars, manufactured by Mazda in the 1990’s. Nowadays, 787b is being presented at many events to attract people with its beautiful engine sound.

Number 55 car was released in September 2017, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Mazda’s launch of the vehicles, and based on the first Japanese car in the Le Mans 24-Hour Race Championship, driven by Volker Weidler, Johnny Herbert and Bertrand Gachot. It is in orange and green. The front and rear cowls can be attached and removed. We could clearly see the engine and main mechanism of the car. It is quite a brilliant diecast toy car as in the 1:64 scale with so much detail and colours being printed. It’s one of our favourite car. It is in orange and green.

Number 18 car in blue and white was released in February 2018. In the race, the car was driven by David. Kennedy, Stefan Johansson and Maurizio Sandro Sala, and finished 6th overall. With the casting adopted from the number 55 car, the mechanism by attaching and detaching the front and rear cowls are the main reason why this diecast toy car is attracting a lot collectors.

Number 201 followed in this series, released in September 2018. Tomica made some changes to the look of the car – the cowl without a headlight was used in daytime races. Tomica called it ɛ̃fini アンフィニ (Anfini) as this is the name Mazda called their luxury division operated between 1991 and 1997 in Japan. This is based on the introduction of RX-7 by Mazda during the time – they were using white and green for this number 201 car, as they are the theme colour to this ɛ̃fini brand.

The fourth car came in with the number 202. Tomica used the same colours set as car number 55, while the colours setup is a flipping version – a reverse charge to the originally chassis 002, which was permanently stored in place. Mazda had produced chassis 003 and Tomica followed with this diecast toy car. It is named “Renown”,without headlight for daytime race. This diecast car was released in December 2019.

The last one came in with black and red, as a test car. As a test car, headlights are being used for day and night time testing. The chassis was numbered 001 and being tested on race track in April 1991.
