Tomica Limited Vintage 5000km to Glory Datsun Bluebird 1600SSS

Tomytec released this special vehicle to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the death of actor Yujiro Ishihara. Ishihara acted in the movie “5000km to Glory” (栄光への5000キロ), which he drove a Datsun Bluebird in the 1969 East African Safari Rally. This model replicates the vehicle seen in the movie.

This car is having the casting from LV-168 Nissan Bluebird 1600SSS (’69), while having number “90” on the top and both sides of the front doors. As the car in the movie was running the rally in the Monte-Carlo race, is it painted with the number 7900 under the official “Rallye Monte-Carlo” logo. Hood is painted in black, while the car is mainly in red. In the movie, Ishihara was representing Japan, so the Japanese flag was on the both sides of the car, along with the word “Japan” on the top.

It’s an interesting car to collect as the paint decorations really put you into the sense of the movie which the car belongs to. The paint decorations are detail enough which you can really read the tiny words on the car.

Crossover by Caltex and Tomytec, this Honda Civic EG6 SiR was introduced to celebrate the Guinness World Records® title for the “Fastest ascent up Doi Chiang mountain, Thailand, by car”, fuelled by Caltex and Techron.

This 1:64 car was only available in Thailand and Hong Kong where car owners fueled at Caltex gas station a few times and they will be able to buy this car.

This set is with a bigger box than a regular TLV series car. An information card comes with to describe this Guinness Word Record. Inside the box you will also find a commemorative card containing a unique serial number. The serial number is with five digits, so we took a wild guess as this car is with a limited run of 10,000 world wide.

The base color is red, comes along with white and dark turquoise blue stripes (Caltex corporate colors).
